Tonight’s BARRA Tech Net is a special Thanksgiving Edition, focused on gratitude, community, and the things we appreciate both in amateur radio and in our everyday lives. Instead of a technical topic, we’re opening the floor for operators to share what they’re thankful for this year—whether it’s family, friends, good health, new projects, successful repairs, making new contacts, or being part of the Western New York ham community.
We’ll also highlight how amateur radio brings people together: from helping each other troubleshoot problems, to keeping our repeaters active, to supporting emergency communications, special events, public service, and simply enjoying conversation across the airwaves.
This is a relaxed, feel-good net meant to remind us why this hobby is special and why the spirit of community matters—today and every day. After check-ins, stations are invited to share a brief message about what they’re thankful for and any positive radio-related experiences from the past year.

Thanks to everyone for being part of BARRA, and happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.
